I am almost an adult!

Hey there!

As you could probably guess by the title, I am almost an adult! I turned sixteen on the 12th of February.  Now I have two more years to go till I become an actual adult. This realization, believe it  or not, was not very pleasant at first,I really don't want to grow up and face the real world. Then I realized, it is the cycle of life, and I still have two years left to learn more about adulthood.

My 16th birthday did not only bring me closer to adulthood, but also brought me many presents.

  1. The first thing I got was a mug, from a dear friend, who knew very well that I was in desperate need of one.
  2. Then I got these amazing pair of glasses, which I will talk more about in the following post.
  3. I also received a Sally Hansen nail polish and a Cover Girl lip stain.
  4. Lastly, I received my very first camera from my parents. I am so thankful for this gift, as I was in dire need of one, especially for this blog.
I would also like to show you guys what I wore to school, as my birthday was on a Tuesday.

(Glasses: Firmoo, Scarf: Pantaloons, Top: Dress Bran, Belt: Steve Madden, Skirt: Ross, Flats: Ross)

Okay, I have no idea why I look so depressed, I can assure you I was not.

I would like to end this post by saying that sorry for not posting for such a long time. I have so many reasons,  which I am not going to bore you with. Hopefully, I will keep you guys updated regularly.

Lastly, Happy President's Day, for those of you in America.

Fashion Tag!

Hey there!

                                 http://img11.hostingpics.net/pics/756326Sanstitre2.jpg

This is my very first tag! (so excited!) Okay, so  I was tagged by Sara from Crime of Fashion, to take part in this wonderful tag, and decided, heck why not. This allows me to be more than a picture on a screen. So you  guys know who I really am. ( I love sharing myself with the world, for some reason)

Here are the Question and the answers!

What is your favorite fashion accessory ?

I have three accessories that I can't live without. The first is a scarf, as they are amazing, and keep me so warm. Plus, they jazz up any outfit in my opinion. The second is a statement necklace, as they look so beautiful. The third is a bracelet, as since  my childhood I have been wearing them and would find it hard to not wear them.

Who's your fashion role model ?

My favorite role models are Kate Middleton, Michelle Phan, and Weronika Załazińska. I have always looked up these amazing women for style inspiration. Kate Middleton, is so perfect in every thing she wares and does, how could you not love her. Michelle Phan, has been my role model ever since the time got into fashion, and I just love her elegant style. Weronika Zalazinka, has such a beautiful vintage mixed with modern style, that I am in love with it.

What do you always carry with you ?

Lip balm and a hair tie.  A lip balm because I can't stand when my lips are chapped, they burn when I eat and discourage me from opening my mouth when I want to talk. A hair tie, as I have a lot of hair, so it tends to get frizzy, making it impossible to have it down. And sometimes I think better when it is tied back.

What are your make up essentials ?

My make up essentials are a concealer and a light berry pink-ish lipstick.  The concealer as, I need coverage for my imperfect skin. The lipstick, as it matches my lip tone, and gives me an instead bright face. But I don't wear it on a daily bases, as my daily bases is going to school, and I personally don't care  what I look like at school.

What would you describe your style as ?

I would describe my style as vintage mixed with a little modern and a little traditional Indian. ( Hopefully that makes sense.)

What inspired you to blog about fashion ?

It was during a boring summer that I had nothing to do what so every besides stare at other fashion blogs and watch youtube videos. So, I decided to start my own blog.

Who is your favorite designer ?

Valentino and Chanel

What is your favorite fashion store/shop ?

Forever 21

Who/what inspires your style ?

My mood. If I feel lazy, it would be something comfortable. If I feel like getting a little out there, then I will wear something out there.

I'd like to tag :

Sheerja, Unity in Fashion and all of you!

Hope you enjoyed the Tag!

Caribbean Muse

Hey There!

You know how I always have a really long story followed by my outfit, well this time I really don't know what to say. I guess  I could start by telling you the story of this maxi skirt ( it is not really a story). It was grand mum's skirt way back in the day when she was my age , when India was still a British colony. I can't even imagine such a time, can you? Then it was passed down to her four daughters, till it reached my mum. After fifteen years of lying in a closet in India, it made its way all the way to my home, and I was in love with this heavy chiffon material, and had to incorporated it in some way, so I did. Hope you like it!

The Blue Skater

Hey there!

I have been having those days when I just can't find pants to wear! Does that every happen to anyone? I remember this period in my life, it was after elementary school and before my teen years,  where all that I would wear consisted of pants, (except my school uniform, which was a navy blue skirt and a white button down). I had a whole closet full of denim which had different styles and cuts. I remember this really hideous creation of a pants I owned. I don't even remember their cut, I am guessing they were a cross breed between boot cut and straight. Oh, and their color was even more ridiculous, it was a dark blue denim washed in green I think, I can't even describe them properly, that's how bad they were. But I loved them none the less, I would ware them every chance I got. Fortunately, I out grew them, and welcomed other types of clothing items to my life. Today, my welcoming has reached to such an extent that I can't even find myself pants to wear. So, my hunt began, and I found this skater skirt at the bottom of my closet, and wore them with legging, as, despite the sun in these pictures, I am freezing!

(Wearing: Shirt: Dress Bran, Scarf: Gift, Skirt: Pantaloons, Legginess, Boots: Ross)

Okay I for some reason just look way too happy in these pictures (but I do tend to be really happy) , and if you are wondering what I am doing, I was trying to throw leaves, which, as you can tell, was a failed attempted.

Hope you enjoyed the post!

Have a wonderful week ahead.

The Lazy Day Uniform

Hey There!

I have a confession to make..... I am an outfit repeater! I know what you are thinking, but you know you have repeated outfits, especially the really comfy ones, don't try to deny it, that is what makes us human.
And if you haven't, bravo to you, because you are amazing. (I really wish I could do what you are doing)

As I said before, I tend to repeat outfits, especially the really comfy ones. One of those is (I know, there is more than one, guilty), this little outfit. I have worn it so many times, as the cropped sweater is so comfortable and on trend. The scarf is so warm and I also added  some flats as that is classic me.

( Wearing: Sweater- Tommy Girl/ Scarf- Pantaloons(India)/Pants- TJmaxx/ Flats- Forever 21)

Yes, The background is in the mail office, I was actually going to take the pictures outdoors, but my mom had to stop by the mail office, and since there was no one there, and it was cold outside, we took the pictures in there.

Hope you enjoyed the post. Have a great week.

Denim Hues

Hey There!

( wearing: Dress from Tjmaxx, Jacket from Pantaloons( India), Scarf from my mother's closet, Shoes from Tjmaxx.)

Today my school took us to see an inspirational movie called, “Chasing Mavericks". It was a wonderful movie, which made me think a little about life. The protagonist was this wonderful person who lived a really hard life but worked very hard to reach his goal. It just makes me wonder about all those times that I have complained about how bad my life is, but is it really? Form my prospective, yes; I really don't like all the homework, and the occasional bad grades, which I receive. But is it really as bad as I make it out to be? In the movie, the protagonist had a lot to overcome, but he stayed positive the whole time, and thrived to accomplish his dream. I think the moral is, we should stop feeling sorry for ourselves, and work to make, what we feel sorry for, better. (What do you guys think?)

Anyway, moving on, I wore my polka dotted dress with a denim jacket. I also added some leggings and a scarf for extra warmth, as the weather is getting really cold. To top it all off, I added some wedges to tie in with the casualness of the denim.

Hope you enjoyed the post. Have a wonderful week.
